Hi, and welcome to my personal blog.
I have, for quite a long time now, become increasingly concerned about a growing trend. It has become common practice for a large percentage of those seeking to shape public opinion, to actively practice the craft of distorting facts, known as ‘spinning the truth’. This is done in order to further a variety of political, religious, social, educational, and even ‘scientific’ agendas. As a result, society has been propelled into an appalling and lamentable state of confusion and individuals are displaying a dangerous erosion of civility.
I am not a very highly educated person (in terms of academic achievement), but have traveled widely and spent much of my life in ‘foreign’ countries, where I had the fortune to be exposed to numerous cultures, philosophies and social environments, all of which have had a remarkable and deep effect on me and my core values. My early training in life as a Hindu monk, while living in India, have also had a profound effect on the shaping of my world-view.
In this blog, I will attempt to examine some of the ‘truths’ and changing values we have accepted as a broader society in the hope of stimulating thoughtful discussion and a reconsideration of where we are heading as a civilization.
